I offer online therapy for teenagers and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural, and psychological difficulties, working closely with parents to ensure support is holistic, joined-up, and tailored to each young person's needs.
Supporting teenagers is a central and deeply meaningful part of my clinical work. With extensive experience delivering therapy in British schools, clinics, and private practice, I bring both specialist knowledge and a genuine understanding of what young people face today.
What I help teenagers with
Adolescence is one of the most significant and complex periods of development, a time of rapid change in identity, relationships, and self-understanding. I work with teenagers experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including:
Anxiety and panic
Low mood and depression
Low self-esteem and confidence issues
Body image concerns
ADHD and attention difficulties
Behavioural challenges at home or school
Difficulties with friendships and social dynamics
Family relationship struggles
Exam stress and academic pressure
Identity and belonging, particularly for teens navigating life between cultures
School-based experience and academic support
My extensive experience working within schools in the UK has given me a deep, practical understanding of the challenges young people face in educational settings, both long-term difficulties such as ADHD and learning differences, and time-limited concerns such as exam anxiety, school transitions, or friendship breakdowns.
I am familiar with how school systems work and how to collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams, and SENCO staff where appropriate ensuring the support a young person receives at home is aligned with what happens at school.
How I work with teenagers and their parents
For online therapy with teenagers, I always begin by meeting with parents first. This initial consultation gives us the opportunity to discuss:
The presenting difficulties and symptoms
Family dynamics and the home environment
The young person's developmental history
Any previous assessments or diagnoses
Together, we consider the most appropriate pathway forward. This might involve parenting sessions, school-based interventions, individual psychotherapy for your teenager, or a combination of all three brought together into one holistic management plan designed around your child's unique needs.
Supporting Arab and immigrant teenagers
A particular focus of my work with teenagers is supporting young people who are growing up between cultures, Arab teenagers living abroad, children of immigrants navigating questions of identity and belonging, and young people who feel caught between the expectations of their family's culture and the world they are growing up in.
These young people face a unique set of pressures that many therapists are not equipped to fully understand. I bring both personal and professional understanding of this experience — and I offer sessions in Arabic and English, or a combination of both, so that language never becomes a barrier to getting the support they need.
Starting the process
We begin with a parent consultation to understand the full picture, after which we agree together on the best way forward. If individual therapy for your teenager is recommended, I will then arrange an initial meeting with your young person to begin building the therapeutic relationship at their own pace.
If you are a parent concerned about your teenager, or a young person looking for support yourself, I warmly invite you to get in touch. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. A simple hello is enough.
